Bus is one of the ways to reach Vilnius. Local, national and international road networks are well developed in Lithuania and from Vilnius this transport can reach any city or town of Lithuania. All buses that arrive to Vilnius go to the central bus station. Vilnius bus station is daily visited by about a hundred Lithuanian and foreign buses carrying passengers not only in Lithuania but also to European cities. Each year, the bus operators carry about two million passengers.

Vilnius Bus Station

Vilnius bus station is located near the train station and the area with two important stations in the city is simply known as Station. Vilnius bus station was built in 1974 and renovated in 2000. Here you can find a long-distance and international ticket office, waiting room, mailroom, luggage storage, gift shops, shopping centers, cafes and ATMs.

  • City buses. Bus station can be reached by the following routes: 1, 1A, 3, 12, 13, 16, 19, 23, 26, 31, 34, 41, 42, 43, 53, 54, 74, 78. If you purchase a ticket in a newsagent - fare 2Lt and if tickets are purchased on the bus then standard price - 2.5 Lt.
  • Trolleybusses. Trolleybuses that go to bus station: 1, 2, 5, 7, 16, 20. If you purchase a ticket in a newsagent - fare 2Lt and if tickets are purchased on the bus then standard price - 2.5 Lt.
  • Shuttle taxi. If you want quickly reach the bus station, then select this vehicle. The station can be reached by 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 13, 16, 27, 32, 33, 37, 49, 50, 62, 74, 82, 99 shuttle taxi. You can buy tickets from the driver and price for each ticket is 3 Lt.

Coach routes

Buses from Vilnius bus station and to the station go to various Lithuanian cities, towns and suburbs. Every day buses come from: Kaunas, Klaipėda, Šiauliai, Panevėžys, Marijampolė, Alytus, Kupiškis, Tauragė, Šilutė, Palanga, Druskininkai, Mažeikiai and other.

Bus tickets

Bus tickets can be purchased in Vilnius bus station or online. In the bus station can be found long-distance ticket office (working hours: I-VII, 6.00-19.00) and ir international ticket office (working hours: I-VII, 7.00-22.00). Advance long-distance tickets can be purchased seven days before departure date. Ticket sale is terminated 10 minutes before the bus departure time.
