The Old Town - one of the most beautiful city highlights. Here you will find not only beautiful buildings, but also impressive streets and squares. However, car parking in the old town or city centre will be quite a tough task. You'll have to toil until you find a free parking-lot. Do not forget that parking in the old town or city centre is not free of charge. Parking is free of charge on Sundays only. City Center and Old Town is divided into four zones: blue, red, yellow and green. Blue zone is the most expensive parking area.

Paid parking

City Center and Old Town is divided into four fee-paying parking zones: blue, red, yellow and green. Any other area of Vilnius is not taxable. Each zone is taxed at different rates. Standard charge for the most of them is applied from Monday till Saturday from 8.00 a.m. till 8.00 p.m. However parking in streets like Turgaus, Rinktinės, Geležinkelio, Arklių, Sodų and Pylimo is charged till 10 p.m. and even on Sundays.

Car parking prices

  • Green zone: 1 val. = 0.30 €.
  • Yellow zone: 1 val. = 0.60 €, 30 min. = 0.30 €.
  • Red zone: 1 val. = 0.90 €, 40 min. = 0.60 €, 20 min. = 0.30 €.
  • Blue zone: 1 val. = 1.80 €, 30 min. = 0.90 €, 10 min. = 0.30 €.

Pay-per-vehicle parking space

You can pay for parking in the nearby pay machines. A payment can be made in several ways: coins or multiplex pre-payment card. If you pay with coins then the lowest fee is 10 cents. The machine accepts 10, 20, 50 cents, 1 and 5 euro coins. When payment for a vehicle parking is made, machine prints a receipt which must be placed on the front panel of vehicle. Parking areas

If you do not want to park on the street, then you can leave the car in protected sites, close to downtown or even in the city center. You can also look for sites that are next to large shopping centers, there parking sometimes is free of charge or partially paid. Mostly 2 hours for free parking and for every next hour you will be charged. Standard one-hour parking price is from 2 to 4 litas. Paid parking areas in the city center: Gedimino ave. 9A, Tilto str. 14, Kosciuškos str. 1A.

Bus parking

Coaches (tourist buses) can park where buses are allowed stand. Long-term parking: Bazilijonų Street (next to Aušros Vartai (Gates of Dawn)), Šv. Stepono (St. Stephen Street (near the railway station)), Aukštaičių street, Subačiaus Street, Olandų Street. Paid parking lots are in T. Kosčiuškos Street (next to Kalnų parkas (Mountain Park)).
